My team and I arrived in Tuy Hoa, Vietnam last week! Here’s an update on the last little bit of our time in Colombia and how it’s been going recently here in Vietnam.

The last week of Colombia was spent with the squad in Guatapé for our debrief. Our coaches and mentors flew in to spend the week with us, and this was one of my favorite weeks of my life haha. We stayed at a hotel in the countryside, there were mountains surrounding us and a beautiful lake we could swim in. We spent the week reflecting over our time in Colombia and all the Lord did, as well as spending a lot of quality time together. We played many games,  had so many great worship sessions, had a talent show, many games of ‘king of the hill’ on the dock of the lake etc.  It was such a refreshing week and a sweet time together especially because when we got to Vietnam the squad was separated into just our teams.

After a very wholesome and relaxing week, we began our very long travel days (yes many many days). We walked with all of our belongings on the side of the road to meet up with our bus driver in Guatapé, then drove about an hour and a half to the Medellín airport. Our flight wasn’t until the next morning so we spent the night sleeping on the airport floor (shoutout to Amanda who let me share her sleeping pad 🫶). We took a 5 hour flight to Houston and had a 7 hour layover there. I got to eat a burger!! After many hours of doing some gymnastics and playing games in the airport, we took at 4 hour flight to LAX. We arrived at midnight so you know what that means! Spending the night on the airport floor again! Wahoooo!! The next morning we took a monster of a flight to Vietnam. 21 hour flight… yup… But it was fun! I got to catch up on some sleep, play card games, and watch movies. We had a tiny layover in Hong Kong so that was fun. Then we arrived in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. We arrived around midnight but instead of sleeping on the floor we just didn’t sleep. We got to go to McDonalds and 7/11. Then my team had to say our goodbyes to the squad before we flew out to Tuy Hoa.

My time in Vietnam had already been so special. I absolutely love the family oriented culture and we already have so many relationships with the people here. There was a flood a few weeks ago in this town so we have been doing some flood cleanup along with our main ministry which is teaching English Classes! This has been very fun and I’m so happy to be back in the classroom. I am so expectant and excited to see all the Lord will do here!

Prayer requests

*pray for homesickness please!                                *pray for revival here & for Jesus to encounter these people.                                                            *pray for unity in our team!

That’s all for now, Maleah
