First off I’d like to say thank you to anyone and everyone who supported me finically, I’m fully funded! I truly believe that the Lord has called me here and I’m already learning so much. I couldn’t have these experiences without your support so thank you all so much!
This past week my squad and I drove up to Black Mountain to do domestic ministry. We worked with Adventurers Relief doing home repairs from Hurricane Helene. Exactly one year ago Hurricane Helene unexpectedly took a turn and headed straight towards North Carolina. The damage and disaster was heartbreaking, especially in the Black Mountain area. Homes were taken from families, businesses were destroyed, and entire neighborhoods were under water. A year later the community is still feeling the massive weight that this storm brought. This area is near to my heart because I have family there and have visited many times. I’m so glad I got the opportunity to serve with my squad rebuilding houses for these families! For the majority of the week my team and I installed insulation for 3 different houses. This included the crawl spaces underneath the houses, the walls, and the roof. We got to meet most of the homeowners and hear their stories as well. Throughout this week it was so beautiful to see the hope that these people have and their faith in the Lord.
Some other fun moments from this week is that I got to play pickleball twice which was so fun, I didn’t realize how much I missed it haha. This week was also such a bonding time for me and my team and let me tell you I love these girls like sisters! (I’ll include a picture of them down below) My nights were filled with many laughs and of course card games.
Now on to GA for a week & we leave for Colombia next Saturday! Thanks for all the prayers, love ya!
